Preparing the print file

When starting a clothing brand, it’s crucial to grasp the importance of print files in product creation. The success of your products hinges significantly on the quality of your products, which in turn depends on the quality of your print files. High-quality print files and designs lead to superior products.

Carefully crafting your designs reduces the risk of order delays due to non-compliance with our requirements. Keep in mind that each delayed order can result in a dissatisfied customer who is frustrated by the wait for a highly anticipated product.

To perfect your print files, it’s essential to adhere to the guidelines set by us. The following are valuable tips to help you create the ideal print file.

Image size and resolution

Image file size, measured in bytes, indicates how much storage space the image occupies on a disk or drive. The maximum file size you can upload to the Design Maker is 200 MB.

Resolution refers to the density of pixels or dots in an image. For digital images, it's measured in pixels per inch (PPI). For printed images, it's measured in dots per inch (DPI). Apply your image to the clothing item and make sure it looks sharp.

Step 01

Check DPI

DPI (dots per inch) is a term used in printing. While digital devices display images in pixels, printers use dots. DPI is determined by your digital image's pixel dimensions and size. Higher DPI means more dots, resulting in sharper prints. Lower DPI means fewer dots, leading to blurrier prints.

Step 02

Resize image

The design maker will show you how good your DPI is. If the DPI isn't good, resize the image in the design maker to get a more optimal DPI and thereby a higher resolution print.
Step 03

Apply image on the item

After checking your resolution, DPI and after resizing your image, place it where you would like it to be. The design maker allows for images to be placed on many different areas of the clothing item. This may differ depending on chosen item and if the selected print type is DTG or embroidery.

Step 01

Choose mockup

After finishing your design, choose a mockup that you think looks nice. This mockup will be the front image that appears to shoppers who view your items in the shop or main page. You chould also use this image when marketing to show off your design.

Step 02

Choose a price

After designing and selecting your mockup, the final stage is to decide on price. This stage requires you to decide regarding how expensive you want your item to be. A higher price could give you a higher turnover, but a lower price could attract more customers. It all depends on what you want your brand to be.
Step 03

Now that you have finished your design and posted your item with your desired price, it’s time to start getting it noticed. This is where you get to contact your friends, employ some social media tactics and get the word of mouth going. Good luck!
